hello...
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. You're likely looking for more information about counselling and therapeutic support, so I'm going to assume that life might be feeling pretty tough right now, for any number of reasons. I know how utterly overwhelming and confusing all the jargon and different types of therapy/counsellors can seem, so you'll find more information on this website about me, how I work and how I view the counselling process, in what I hope is an easy to follow format! My aim is to try and make it as straightforward as possible for you to decide if I might be someone you could feel comfortable working with.

So, hello. My name is Emma Charlick and I'm what's known as an "integrative counsellor/psychotherapist". This is a fancy label for someone who uses a range of different ways of working in order to meet a person as fully as possible; I don't believe in shaping a person or their difficulties to fit into a single theory or modality. I offer in person counselling sessions in Langport and also remotely online. Sessions are 50 minutes and I charge between £60-£80 per session, with some concessionary rate slots available for trainee counsellors/mental health practitioners.

I prioritise you feeling safe, seen and heard in sessions, which I believe enables you to explore yourself, your views and your world as fully as possible. I see you as a whole, complex person, and I don't think that as a unique individual, one way of working is going to completely fit for every client, or even for you from session to session or moment to moment. My approach therefore varies, depending on what you need and what your goals are for counselling. I also like to work with the developing relationship between us, as client and counsellor, as I believe in the transformative power of experiencing safe, authentic human connection and how this can ripple into other relationships outside of the therapy room.
